FUEL THE FIRE
The number one contributor to your success. The thing that fuels curiosity and destroys dreams. An environment can make you feel driven, determined and somewhat invincible, where another can leave you feeling exhausted, uninspired, even sick.
Years ago, I had it sorted…
thats an excuse
There is a reason you’re not getting results…
You lack discipline!
Think about it.
Because you lack discipline, you make excuses. Countless excuses. Often ones you will not even realise you are making.
YOU CAN BE PROUD
You don't need to beat yourself up.
You're allowed to be proud of yourself.
Not the announce-it-to-the-world kind of proud. A high-five. A number on the PB board. A post you almost didn't share. None of that needs an apology.
Credit is earned. But earned doesn't mean big.
I hope you fail.
I don't enjoy watching you fail. Or anyone, for that matter.
But every now and again, I want you to fail.
It's good for you.
And, here's why…
class first
It's funny how quickly someone can forget something they once held close. Something so simple. Something valuable.
I'm often out of town…
Learn to Count
You showed up. You set goals. You told people, and yourself, what you were chasing. And then, somewhere in the middle of a workout, because it got hard, you stopped counting and told yourself it didn't matter.
More than MEMORIES
Most athletes train relentlessly but rarely stop to look back. And yet reflection, in its two forms: immediate and deliberate, may be the most undervalued tool you have.
The Lone WOLF
We’ve been told that success is determined by you alone. That if you grind hard enough, you'll eventually reach the peak. Unfortunately talent and a great training plan aren't enough to survive the trenches.
The Workhorse TRAP
Every time, the same question: how much more do they need to train? Not how do I sleep better, not how do I move more efficiently, how much volume do I need.
Athletic PROWESS
Once upon a time, having notable athletic prowess may have been all you needed to end up near the top of the leaderboard. Thankfully, CrossFit has evolved…
It’s not resilience
A contemporary misunderstanding; What most of us commonly refer to as resilience is better explained as mental toughness
The PUZZLE
This is the modern disconnect. We write training programs for robots and ask humans to execute them.
